The internship program which was started on July 8, 2023 in Loei Province, Thailand involved 14 English Education students from various universities in Indonesia, namely Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo, Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik, Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palopo, and Universitas Madura.

On this occasion, students are expected to be able to implement the knowledge they have gained to elementary school students in Thailand. One of them was Monica Indriya Lestari, a student from Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo University who was placed at Ban Erawan School, a relatively big elementary school with more than 1000 students, said during the opening ceremony at the school, “Thank you for welcoming and accepting us here. Hopefully our presence here can bring a good influence to the students and teachers.”

Learning process at Ban Erawan uses games and songs as learning media so that students do not feel bored and think that learning English is interesting, easy, and fun. “I’m so happy to learn English with games, I’m waiting for another game to learn English”, said one of the students.

Along with the internship process, the students were also introduced to Thai traditions and culture. One of them was the Thai Language Day Celebration which was held on July 27, 2023 at Ban Erawan School. All of the teachers and some students in grades 1-6 were required to wear costumes. During the event, some students were also asked to perform traditional Thai dance and singing. After the event, students in grades 4-6 went to the temple to worship and pray.
