UMSIDA and UM PALOPO students lead a cultural exchange event at a Thai secondary school

Students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (UMSIDA), Raditya Ferdi Riyanto, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Palopo (UM PALOPO), Muhammad Gafri Andira Putra, currently interning in Thailand, organized a lively cultural exchange event at a secondary school in Thailand. The event celebrated the bond between Indonesia and Thailand by showcasing shared cultural values and traditions.

With strong support from native teachers, the event aimed to introduce various aspects of Indonesian culture to Thai students, highlighting the shared traditions between the two countries. The exchange showcased traditional Indonesian costumes, foods, and dances, offering the students a firsthand experience of Indonesia’s rich heritage. Attendees were captivated by the colorful traditional attire, which represented the diverse regions of Indonesia. They also got new insights into Indonesian delicacies, providing a culinary exploration that emphasized the similarities in flavors between the two cultures. The traditional dance represents the similarities between Indonesia and Thailand’s culture, with the rhythmic movements and vibrant music drawing attention to the unique yet familiar elements of both Indonesian and Thai traditions. The performances served as a bridge between the two cultures, illustrating how dance and music can transcend borders.

Interactive games were also organized to further engage the students, creating a lively atmosphere that encouraged participation and learning. These activities not only entertained but also educated the students on the cultural values and practices that Indonesia and Thailand share.

As the event concluded, everyone left with a deeper appreciation for the cultural ties that link Indonesia and Thailand, making it a memorable experience for all involved.
