On April 27 and 28, 2023, Burapha University’s Faculty of Political Science and Law held two distinct Curriculum Benchmarking Discussions. Delegates from the Faculty of Business, Law, and Social Science at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (UMSIDA) participated in the festivities.
On April 27, the conversation was centered on topics related to the Bachelor of Law curriculum, including admissions procedures, enrollment figures, the size of the teaching and support staff, a general overview of the course material, upcoming joint lectures, the internship program, employability, collaborative research, and upcoming academic events. A similar discussion was held the next day for the Bachelor of Public Administration (Local Affairs Administration) and Bachelor of Public Administration (General Administration) programs.
During the discussions, both institutions exchanged ideas on how to further develop and improve their respective programs. They explored opportunities for research collaboration, internship programs, and joint lectures, among others. They also discussed upcoming academic activities such as short courses, onsite visiting lectures, student exchange programs, community-based joint research, and international seminars.
Apart from the curriculum benchmarking discussions, the Faculty of Political Science and Law also organized a special lecture on April 27th, featuring Assistant Professor Poppy Fabriana, the Dean of Business, Law, and Social Science, UMSIDA. The lecture, entitled “Challenges in Attaining Sustainable Development Goals in Indonesia,” aimed to provide students with broader and more insightful perspectives on sustainable development. The narrators and moderators of the event included Assistant Professor Dr. Anurat Anantanathorn, Dr. Noppawan Phuengpha, and Dr. Pimkamol Kongphok from Burapha University.
The event was a great opportunity for students to expand their knowledge and international network. It is a testament to Burapha University’s commitment to providing a quality education for its students and fostering partnerships with academic institutions in the ASEAN region.
